| Description: | Plans, raises funds, and executes 5th grade party including 5th grade gift to school. |

| Art Lit | ||

| Description: | This is a standing committee at Raleigh Park. Committee head is a member of the PTO Board. Position assists with the arts curriculum at Raleigh Park including classroom Art Lit education, recruitment and selection of residencies in the arts and other art related projects. |

| Art Lit Kiln | ||

| Description: | Trains volunteers and coordinates usage of kiln for all school projects. |
|
| Book Fair | ||
| Chair: | Andrea Peterson | |
| Description: | Volunteers help set up the displays, act as cashier and assist buyers. Coordinator schedules shifts based upon availability of volunteers and book fair hours. |
|
| Box Tops | ||
| Chair: | Jina Lorati | |
| Description: | Participate in the annual Box Tops for Education fundraiser. Consists of communicating the fundraiser to students and families and managing the box top collection from students. |
|
| Carnival | ||

| Description: | Participate in the annual Raleigh Park Spring Carnival - various activites including games, concessions, and prizes |
|
| Chess Club | ||
| Chair: | Brian Enneking/Matt Gadbaw | |
| Description: | Help supervise students at this one hour per week activity from October to January. No chess experience necessary. |
|
| Clothes Closet | ||
| Chair: | Kristen Johanson | |
| Description: | Volunteers work a Raleigh Park designated shift at the community Clothes Closet. Clothes Closet is located at the Beaverton District Offices off Merlo Road. |

| Communications | ||
| Chair: | Sherilynn Bare | |
| Description: | Manage PTO related communications including updating website, distribution of take home flyers, and other pertinent communications for the community. |
|
| Community Outreach | ||

| Description: | Work with the school counselor to provide supplies, holiday gifts, or other needs for families struggling financially at Raleigh Park - As needed basis; holiday giving tree in November |

| Field Day | ||
| Chair: | Open | |
| Description: | Assist Phys Ed teacher with various events. Typically requires around 75 volunteers for the one day event. Volunteers run various field day activity stations or monitor student groups as they move from station to station. Requires half day commitment, either morning or afternoon. |

| Fifth Grade Tiles | ||
| Chair: | Jacquie Bell | |
| Description: | Work with Art Lit Kiln coordinator and room parents to execute the 5th grade tiles used to decorate bathrooms. These tiles are a 5th grade student legacy to Raleigh Park. |

| Garden Committee | ||

| Description: | Garden Committee is a Standing Committee and the chair is a member of the PTO Board. Volunteers help in any of the areas of maintaining the garden (weeding, composting, sweeping, raking, etc.) harvesting food from the garden and organizing lunch time tastings with students, developing garden curriculum/ideas with the teachers, conducting lunch time work parties/plantings with the students, providing ongoing communication (bulletin board updates, newsletter articles, website updates, photography, etc..) fundraising and other special projects (garden tours, construction projects, etc.) No gardeing experience necessary! |

| Hospitality | ||

| Description: | Arrange for hospitality at various PTO sponsored events. |
|
| Jog-a-thon | ||
| Chair: | Toni Masingale | |
| Description: | The "Eye of the Tiger" Jog-a-Thon, is a fun-filled, fitness-oriented event that is Raleigh Park's largest fundraiser of the year. Students solicit pledges and donations for their anticipated efforts, and on the day of, every child runs as many laps as possible in their allotted times. Last year our children raised more than $43,000, and this year on October 6th & 7th, we hope to enjoy another successful event! |

| Jr. Great Books | ||

| Description: | Junior Great Books is an ongoing volunteer activity that provides enrichment opportunities in Reading and, more specifically, discussion of short stories. Volunteers facilitate small groups. Group participants are determined by teachers. Frequency of meetings can be decided upon between classroom teacher and volunteer. Support for volunteers is available by JGB Coordinator. Materials are well scripted and available as needed, |

| Description: | Help to reshelf books. pull books for teachers, and support library class projects. |

| Mileage Club | ||

| Description: | Mileage Club Coordinator: Recruits and schedules volunteers to monitor kids walking or running the track during lunch recesses, tracks each child's mileage, purchases and distributes awards as earned. Introduces program to first graders in the fall during PE classes. |

| Operation Clean Up | ||

| Description: | Participate in periodic clean up of school grounds. |

| Passport Club | ||

| Description: | Manages the materials for passport club including maps, visas, stamps, testing lists, etc... Recruits and trains volunteers who learn geography at home and then test students before school (8-8:30) on the last Wednesday of each month. Arranges for year-end awards for participants. |

| Science Enhancement | ||

| Description: | Work with science community including OMSI to build science enrichment curriculum for Raleigh Park as budgeted by the PTO. |

| Talent Show | ||

| Description: | Assist with preparation and event. Volunteers work lunch shifts and help students prepare and practice their act. Other volunteers work with stage crew on cuing acts, lighting, script timing, etc .. Volunteers also help with creating large group acts. |

| Teacher Appreciation Week | ||

| Description: | Work with hospitality coordinator and room parents to shower teachers with thank you notes, hosted luncheons, etc... |

| Tiger Striders | ||

| Description: | Encourages kids to walk to school in "walking buses" with an adult supervisor every Thursday morning to school. Currently there are four walking routes. - Thursday mornings,- 30 minutes once a week

| Description: | Translate pertinent school communications for non-english speaking family members. |

| Vision Screening | ||

| Description: | Annual vision screening for students in 1st, 3rd and 5th grade. Volunteers assist with vision testing - usually requires about 19 volunteers to assist from 8:30 - 10:30. |

| Description: | Manage name tags for volunteers. Requires updating name tags annually and periodically throughout the year as new volunteers join activities. |

| Ways & Means | ||

| Description: | This committee is responsible for overseeing the success of our fundraising programs. |

| Welcome Committee | ||
| Chair: | Amy Perkins, Katie Groh, Danna Kittell | |
| Description: | We call new families that transfer into Raleigh Park throughout the year, answer questions they may have, invite them to PTO meetings, let them know about ways to get involved and volunteer at the school, and generally welcome and familiarize them with the school. We also prepare a welcome packet that the school distributes to new families. The majority of the time commitment falls at the start of school and then again after Christmas Break and Spring Break (1-3 hours each season). Spanish speakers are especially needed! |
