Calming Spaces Create Calm Students = FUNDED!

Thanks to generous community contributions and a match by the Beaverton Education Foundation, Raleigh Park will have a warm and welcoming space to help Tricia Howery and our Behavior Health and Wellness Team next year.

from the Beaverton Education Foundation:

CONGRATULATIONS

Raleigh Park Elementary School!

Tricia Howery and the Raleigh Park Behavior Health and Wellness Team has been awarded funding for the Beaverton’s Choice project “Calming Spaces Create Calm Students.”

Raleigh Park Elementary’s Behavior Health and Wellness Team will be able to transform a basic conference room into a warm, welcoming space to serve a variety of students in a variety of ways through this Beaverton’s Choice award. Approximately 100 kindergarten through fifth grade students will use the space primarily to help students with behavior regulation, problem solving, skill building groups and leadership groups in addition to occasional parent and teacher use. Having a designated space that is set up for these purposes will help students feel at ease when upset, calm and focused when learning and and will allow our behavior health and wellness team to work with groups in a space conducive to fit student needs.
